Very small, really easy, just ingenious.
The small, smart XS with triggered autofocus and many other auto functions combines the easiness and comfort of a consumer camera with the scope of industrial applications. The XS can easily be integrated thanks to its USB 2.0 interface and Mini B USB 2.0 connector. Equipped with OmniVision’s 5.04 MPix CMOS sensor and a pixel size of 1.4 µm the camera delivers excellent images quality and accuracy in colour reproduction – even in the harshest ambient light conditions.
The camera is the ideal choice for all applications that required a small yet smart camera with a great range of features. Due to its lightweight, compact design, 15.0 fps at full resolution (2592 x 1944 pixels) and integrated power supply, the XS is perfect for ATM, kiosk and embedded systems as well as medical engineering.
This camera model will be supported beginning with IDS Software Suite 4.92.

The USB 2 uEye XS is particularly suited for the following applications due to its size, multipe additional (auto-)features and autofocus lens system:
Efficient capture of document content, for example for documentation or process automation.
Typical scenarios are the use in portable systems for quality control, in diagnostics, in scanners or drones.
Small device construction
Compact and powerful – IDS cameras can be easily integrated into small devices such as handheld scanners or other portable systems.
Image processing can be used, for example, to record visitor numbers and customer behaviour and carry out entrance controls.
Imaging systems can be found e.g. in self-checkout systems and reverse vending machines and provide support for shelf inspection.
IDS cameras are used in self-checkout systems as well as in reverse vending machines and ATMs.
